Starting at 6:30 p.m.
MEET Digital Culture Center – Viale Vittorio Veneto 2, Milan
In collaboration with Delegazione del Québec in Italia.
On October 13 at 6:30 p.m., MEET Digital Culture Center will welcome Luc Courchesne, a Canadian artist and pioneer of media art, for a new appointment of “Meet the Media Guru”, the series that brings international leaders in digital culture, art, and innovation to Milan.
During the event, Luc Courchesne will present “Wien Chiaroscuro”, an immersive and interactive work that explores the city of Vienna by interweaving space, images, memory, and perception. Through the possibilities offered by digital media, the work invites the audience to engage with a different way of experiencing and interpreting urban space, transforming the viewer’s experience into an integral part of the narrative.
Following the presentation of Wien Chiaroscuro, Luc Courchesne will engage in a conversation with the audience as part of Meet the Media Guru, sharing his research and his journey in the field of digital arts. The discussion will address the relationship between art and technology, the narrative possibilities of interactive and immersive media, and the increasingly central role of the audience in shaping the artistic experience.
Long interested in the relationship between the viewer, the image, and technology, Courchesne has created works in which the viewer is no longer merely an observer but becomes an active participant in the experience. His work spans photography, video, installation, interactivity, and immersive environments, exploring how digital technologies can alter our perception of space and the way we narrate and understand the world.
This event featuring Luc Courchesne offers an opportunity to delve deeper into the work of one of the artists who has helped define the language of media art and experiment with new forms of relationship between art, technology, and the public.
