Coding Lab
Weekly robotics after-school programs for children ages 7 to 13
October through May
Ages 7–10, every Wednesday (5:00 p.m.–6:30 p.m.)
Ages 11–13, every Thursday (3:30 p.m.–5:00 p.m.)
Lab + Aula Miri

Learning to code, build robots, and solve logic puzzles while working as a team: this is the goal of CODING LAB, the new weekly after-school program offered by MEET and Scuola di Robotica for children ages 7 to 13. The children will work collaboratively in a fun environment, honing their logic, creativity, and computational thinking through Game-Based Learning and Project-Based Learning methodologies, which frame each challenge within engaging scenarios. The content will be tailored for the 7–10 and 11–13 age groups, following a progressive month-by-month program that will explore the STEAM disciplines in an integrated way, guiding participants on a journey of discovery through science, technology, engineering, art, and mathematics with ever-changing activities and simulations.

Module 1 (October) | Math Lab: Calculations in Action

An experiential workshop where math becomes a hands-on adventure through the use of LEGO kits and educational robots. By programming the robots with block-based software, children transform numbers and shapes into real movements: they measure distances using addition and subtraction, calculate paths on a grid, and guide the robots to draw geometric shapes—such as squares and rectangles—directly on paper. Through increasingly challenging levels, participants configure color and distance sensors to help the vehicles avoid obstacles and keep score. This hands-on experience strengthens logical thinking, spatial awareness, and teamwork, demonstrating how geometry can come to life through code.

Target age group: 7–10 years old

Schedule: Every Wednesday (5:00 p.m. – 6:30 p.m.)

Workshop price: 1 month €50, 2 months €90, annual €340

Module 1 (October) | Robotics and Logic in Motion

A dynamic, hands-on workshop where the world of LEGO bricks serves as the perfect bridge between geometric theory, physics, and engineering practice. By integrating educational robots equipped with markers, students transform the Cartesian plane from an abstract concept into a real-life technological playground, programming the robots to follow trajectories, trace paths on paper, and analyze motion data with extreme precision. Each coding challenge requires a deep understanding of coordinates, shapes, and angles, pushing students to navigate vehicles through space and solve complex logical puzzles. The activity, structured in small groups, fosters cooperation, experiential learning through trial and error, and the development of solid logical and mathematical skills through a highly engaging approach.

Target Age Group: 11–13 years old

Schedule: Every Thursday (3:30–5:00 p.m.)

Workshop Price: 1 month: 50€, 2 months: 90€, annual: 340€
