Nel bosco del futuro: VR workshop and family show

What if we could imagine the future of our planet together? And what if, to do so, we could step into a forest that doesn’t yet exist, but that might one day become a reality?

On April 12, MEET returns with an afternoon entirely dedicated to families with children ages 4 to 10, inviting them to take part in a project that combines technology, art, and play in an engaging and interactive narrative.

Two events have been designed to explore the relationship between humans, nature, science, and imagination from a new perspective: starting at 3:00 PM, the interactive virtual reality workshop “Nel Bosco dei Numeri” and, starting at 5:00 PM, the show “Nel Bosco del Futuro”. The project is by Ariella Vidach AiEP / DiDstudio and is produced with the support of MEET Digital Culture Center, MIC – Ministry of Culture, and the City of Milan.

An afternoon where families can spend time together creatively, engaging with virtual reality not only as spectators but also as active participants, while reflecting on a changing world and how it is possible to intertwine worlds that seem as distant as technology and the environment.

“Nel Bosco dei Numeri”: interactive virtual reality workshop

The afternoon begins at 3:00 p.m. with a 90-minute workshop that is much more than just a game: it is a journey into a virtual world where children and parents are encouraged to interact with one another and become protagonists in challenges, discoveries, and collective missions that unfold at the intersection of the real and virtual worlds.

Through VR stations, participants will enter a space designed to foster collaboration, curiosity, and critical thinking, playing with simple concepts of probability, statistics, and ecological behavior. An avatar will guide participants on this journey, offering insights and questions about our present and the future we could build together.

The games, developed in collaboration with Prof. Antonietta Mira (USI) and in partnership with Oltre I Limiti ETS, offer a valuable opportunity to engage in thoughtful reflection on fundamental issues such as the environment, cooperation, and equality.

“Nel Bosco del Futuro”: a musical and choreographic fairy tale

At the end of the workshop, following a short break at 5:00 p.m., you can enjoy a performance designed for children but that also resonates with adults. “Nel Bosco del Futuro” is a multimedia fairy tale blending dance, music, imagery, and poetry that offers a vision of our planet’s future.

A story born from ecological nursery rhymes written by Bruno Tognolini to depict, with both lightness and depth, a world where humans, animals, and plants live in harmony, coexist, listen to one another, and respect one another—a place where it is possible to create, on an equal footing, spaces for cohabitation and coexistence with different species. Audiences will find themselves immersed in an imaginary forest that is both a possible horizon and a poetic, shared vision of what tomorrow’s world might look like.

Directed and choreographed by Claudio Prati and Ariella Vidach, the show combines immersive technologies and live performance to offer families an exciting and immersive experience.

Note: Seating is limited; reservations are recommended. To book, click on the link, select April 12, and choose your preferred ticket type (“Workshop + Show” or “Show Only”).
