Nel bosco del futuro: VR workshop and show for families

What would happen if we could imagine the future of our planet together? And what if, to do so, we could enter a forest that does not yet exist, but could one day become reality?

On February 1, MEET is organizing for the second time an afternoon entirely dedicated to families with children aged 4 to 10, taking part in a project that combines technology, art, and play in an engaging and interactive story.

There are two events designed to explore the relationship between humans, nature, science, and imagination with a new vision: from 3:00 p.m., the interactive virtual reality workshop “Nel bosco dei numeri” and, from 5:00 p.m., the show “Nel bosco del futuro”. The project is by Ariella Vidach AiEP / DiDstudio and is produced with the support of MEET Digital Culture Center, MIC – Ministry of Culture, and the Municipality of Milan.

An afternoon where families can spend time together creatively, approaching virtual reality not only as spectators but also as protagonists, while reflecting on a changing world and how it is possible to intertwine worlds that seem distant, such as technology and the environment.

“Nel Bosco dei Numeri”: interactive virtual reality workshop

The afternoon begins at 3:00 p.m. with a 90-minute workshop that is much more than just a game: it is a journey into a virtual world where children and parents are encouraged to interact with each other and become protagonists in challenges, discoveries, and collective missions that unfold at the boundaries between the real and virtual worlds.

Through VR stations, participants will enter a space designed to stimulate collaboration, curiosity, and critical thinking, playing with simple concepts of probability, statistics, and ecological behavior. An avatar will guide participants along this path, offering insights and questions about our present and the future we could build together.

The games, designed in collaboration with Prof. Antonietta Mira (USI) and Oltre I Limiti ETS, offer a valuable opportunity to reflect in an engaging way on fundamental issues such as the environment, cooperation, and equality.

“Nel Bosco del Futuro”: musical and choreographic fairy tale

At the end of the workshop and after a short break at 5:00 p.m., you can watch a show designed for children but which also appeals to adults. “Nel Bosco del Futuro” is a multimedia fairy tale made up of dance, music, images, and poetry in which you can imagine a vision of the future of our planet.

The story is based on ecological nursery rhymes written by Bruno Tognolini to describe, with lightness and depth, a world where humans, animals, and plants live in harmony, cohabiting, listening to and respecting each other, a place where it is possible to create spaces for cohabitation and coexistence with different species in an egalitarian way. The audience will find themselves immersed in an imaginary forest that is at once a possible horizon and a poetic and shared vision of what tomorrow’s world could be.

Directed and choreographed by Claudio Prati and Ariella Vidach, the show combines immersive technologies and live performances to offer families an exciting and immersive experience.

N.B.: Places are limited, so booking is recommended.
